Very comfortable – zips together!, November 17, 2010

I’m in the Army and do a fair amount of sleeping outdoors, and I can say that this is a great sleeping bag for what it is designed for (family car camping, advertised temperature range).

It is very comfortable, nice and warm, and even has a built-in strap system when you roll it up to keep things together – this alleviates the need for a rope or bungie cord/etc that could get lost. A stuff sack would still be better, but it’s certainly a good thought and a welcome addition at zero cost. It can also zip together with a second identical sleeping bag.

What I would not use this sleeping back for – very cold temps, bare ground sleeping (no cinch at the top of the bag, likely no rain resistance) or backpack camping as it is bulky (a stuffsack would help with this) and a bit heavier than it could be.

Again, for what it is designed/targeted for, it is a GREAT sleeping bag!

Big and thick but warm and roomy, July 21, 2016

I do not like mummy bags, even when I’m out backpacking. What’s the point if you can’t sleep anyway. They do come in handy for emergencies since they are small and take up little space.

This thing is big. I’m 5′ 10″ 200 lbs and love this size. I have room to move around and my feet don’t hit bottom. I love the flannel feel inside and it is warm. I haven’t tried it at 30 degrees yet but at 49 degrees I didn’t zip it up and still felt warm kicking my feet and legs out now and then.

Because it is cotton and not down it is thick and even rolled up in a car it takes up a lot of space. The string to tie it up is useless, I cut that off and use straps that click together. Even still rolling it as tight as you can takes up a lot of space.

But overall it’s roomy and warm. Great for someone like me who prefers space and at a great price.

Wild about the No Snag Zipper and Flannel Lining!, October 30, 2016

I ordered this to try in my RV while traveling in a colder weather area. The other reasons are because it has a No-Snap Zipper, is extra-large and it has a flannel lining.

    Pros:
    It is warm and comfortable
The extra width and length make sleeping in it much more comfortable than a regular size sleeping bag.
The flannel linking is top quality and cozy.
Wild about the Zipper … I don’t know how many times I have caught material in the zipper of one of my other sleeping bags and this Coleman Oak Point bag has a No-Snag Zipper that really works. I have not got trapped inside the bag one time and because my hands are weaker now I don’t have the strength to pull material out of a zipper easily. So, I am extremely happy with that feature.
You might wonder why I am sleeping inside a sleeping bag instead of inside of sheets with blankets. Simple! I like being zippered in so that nothing can creep around that you might track in from outside when you are RVing. I zip up, fold it up and store it away everyday which seems like a bit of extra work but I know at night when I crawl in it is warm and cozy and nothing is getting past the zippered areas.
The colors are neutral and the outside fabric of the sleeping bag is top quality fabric.
It seems to be extremely well made and the interior flannel fabric is very soft.
The other reason I got this particular one is it can be used as a double and you can get the lighter weight bag for summer sleeping and zip them together if you want.
A great sleeping bag at a very affordable price.

Cons: None, I am extremely happy that I go this particular sleeping bag.
