I give it 5 stars -I tried eating a packet just to see and it was surprisingly good. For what it is and for what it is intended for, I have no complaints. I would however give it an extra couple of minutes when soaking it in the water then what is recommended on the instructions.

Hi here is some vary interesting information on mountain house food buckets .talk to disturbing guy about the experation date on the buckets that arrived my concern was they have 2026 on them ?? That’s not 25 years only 11!! The 25 year shelf life is misleading by no falt of mountain house there are no FDA regulations on food of this nature the guy I talk to said that amazons claim 25 years should be changed to 10 to 12 years. (That’s what’s in the fine print And the research I found to be accurate ) so I will still keep and sleep well knowing I have a great product and knowing the actual timeline of best use. It may last 20 to 25 years but with the information I got I wouldn’t put my life on it. I will start using it in 10 years for camping ect. Then replace it with new to keep it updated.!! Hope this helps (it did me a lot). PS this information is for all brands claiming 25 year shelf life be careful don’t be misled do some research you’ll be surprised what the manufacturers say about their shelf life expectancys (10 to 12 years ) on most for best quality And nutrition (just saying!!)
